The Neuro-Auricular Method for Neck Pain

The Neuro-Auricular Method for Neck Pain

The Neuro-Auricular Method for Neck Pain

Jan 26, 2022 - 12:00 (EST)
1 hour

Session Outline:

The microsystem of the ear reflects the brain’s mapping of our neural states (anatomical, functional, mental).  This is not just a simple static map; it is a precise and dynamic map that provides a highly individualized and current read-out of what is happening in both mind and body — psychosomatic insights so important for the effective management/treatment of pain.

In this presentation you will learn mechanisms of action, as well as how to read the map and identify active reflex zones. These skills will give you access to privileged information from the patient’s nervous system — deeper insights to support improved therapy outcomes:

  • Identify and/or confirm underlying issues related to each patient’s individual symptom picture
  • Uncover insights to support your Physiotherapy assessment and treatment plan.
  • Influence pain messages in the central nervous system by treating points on the ear

The skills from this introductory presentation can support improved practice results as soon as they are applied — even though they only scratch the surface of what is possible using Auricular Methods.

This live webinar is sponsored by the Acupuncture Division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association (CPA).

Webinar Details:

Date: Wednesday, January 26, 2022

Time: 12pm - 1pm E.D.T (60mins)

Price: Free

Presenter:

Dave Maybee, RMT, Academic Director & Lead Instructor - Canadian Institute of Auricular Medicine www.integrateauricular.ca

Dave expertly conveys his ever growing passion in Auricular Medicine — as based on the work of medical doctors, Paul Nogier, Frank Bahr, Beate Strittmatter and other leading physicians and researchers in the field — through his deep knowledge of the material. He engages students with clinical examples, demonstrations and Q&A to accommodate and spark diverse interests while delivering clear objectives and learning outcomes.

In addition to teaching, Dave integrates cranial sacral therapy and myofascial release with auricular medicine to treat unresolved chronic pain and other issues found in therapy resistant patients (hard to treat patients who have “tried everything”).

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of this workshop participants will be able to:

  1. Explain the basic mechanisms of action of Neuro-Auricular to clients
  2. Locate active points on the ear
  3. Treat active points on the ear and see the results right away in the clinic
