Overview
Older adults with hearing loss tend to be more sedentary and less active than those with normal hearing. Several factors may contribute to this relationship, including but not limited to reduced ability to hear sounds and speech, decreased mobility, increased cognitive/listening fatigue and limited hearing accessibility measures.
This online course will review the current literature on the comorbidity of age-related hearing and vestibular loss, as well as evidence-based interventions aimed at addressing these factors.
Learning Objectives
In this course, participants will be able to:
- Create a treatment plan that takes into consideration the patient’s hearing ability.
- Effectively implement communication strategies with individuals with hearing loss.
- Operate hearing aids and verify their functionality prior to communicating with patients with hearing loss.
